In-depth research helped us to better understand user intent / demand, identify and prioritize gaps in both visibility and content, and lay the foundation for a scalable content roadmap. We targeted 1 primary keyword theme: Dedicated Hosting. This root keyword had roughly 33,000 supporting keyword derivatives and search demand estimates of over 327,000/month tied to them. We identified this as the primary opportunity and the way to meet InMotion’s digital marketing goals.
We implemented our proprietary “6R” Content Audit methodology to better optimize any existing content to align with searcher intent. This 6R Content Audit told us what content should be “reformatted”, “repurposed”, “refreshed”, “retired”, “redirected”, or what content should just “remain” as-is in order to meet user intent for different search queries. Our initial focus was on updating and optimizing related pages found in the Support and Blog sections of the site.
Next, we developed content clusters that supported our keyword theme using in-depth articles, guides, tools and calculators, how to articles, surveys and answers to frequently asked questions. Our content strategy also focused on search query chains, specifically the user journey and ensuring that InMotion was present throughout Google’s “People Also Ask” & “Related Searches” features. This strategy strengthened InMotion’s semantic authority for our target area, which is required to better establish trust with the engines, and users.
We optimized all existing Dedicated Server landing pages targeting transactional keywords, focusing on features & benefits to help increase conversions.
As a relatively new player in the dedicated server space, InMotion needed a robust digital PR strategy to get their product story out, promote the newly created content and boost page brand and link equity. We leveraged existing relationships with publishers and influencers in both the tech and hosting space. Current and ongoing news related to cyber-security threats and focus on small business created media opportunities that tied directly to the product. We capitalized on this opportunity by placing over 100 pieces of content in publications such as Digital Edge, eCommerce Fastlane and Newzify. Each outlined InMotion Hosting’s differentiators and value proposition. These placements helped to increase page authority and establish relevancy for our competitive top-of-funnel keyword queries.
To ensure maximum SERP shelf-space, we aligned to technical SEO best practices for page speed, language markup, internal linking, and information architecture. These best practices helped us to take advantage of featured snippet opportunities, along with increased voice search activity.
Lastly, to help increase conversions we leveraged AI-driven insights to enhance readability & the overall user-experience. We tested different hero images, calls-to-action and optimized the path to conversion.
